I had the great fortune recently to hear Rip Esselstyn speak at my local Whole Foods Market. Rip is making his rounds doing a book tour to promote his latest book, My Beef With Meat.
For those of you that might not be familiar with him, Rip Esselstyn is a former pro triathlete, firefighter and author of The Engine 2 Diet. His father, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn is a world renowned physician at the Cleveland Clinic, author of Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease and was featured on the documentary Forks Over Knives.
I highly recommend both of Rip’s books for anyone interested in a plant strong diet. Whether you are new to the idea of plant-based nutrition or not, these books are a worthwhile read and I guarantee that you will come away with some valuable insight.
Rip’s casual style and engaging demeanor are reflected in his writing, as is his passion for helping people life long, healthy, plant strong lives.
In his latest book, My Beef With Meat, he covers all the bases and dispels quite a few nutrition myths. The book is also loaded with recipes. Recipes that I call “man-friendly.” Easy, delicious and filling – with easy to find ingredients. You won’t even miss the meat – I promise!
As a society, we are more unwell and overweight than ever before. It’s time for that to change. Eating a well balanced, plant strong diet is by far the most powerful choice that you can make for your personal health. The initial transition can feel a little awkward, but with help from books like these, the road really is quite easy.
